The MPD utilizes a Class ‘A’, Class ‘B’, Class ‘C’, Class ‘D’ uniform system to address the specific needs of the Department.
- The Class ‘A’ uniform is the full dress uniform and shall only be worn in its entirety. It may be worn for specific events at the direction of the Chief or his/her designee.
- The Class ‘B’ uniform is the alternative to the Class ‘A’ uniform. The Class ‘B’ uniform shall be worn for funerals.
- The Class ‘C’ uniform is authorized to be worn as the uniform of the day year round, unless otherwise directed by the Chief of Police or his/her designee.
- The Class ‘D’ uniform encompasses the category of utility and specialty unit apparel, to be determined by each unit’s SOP and respective Unit/Division/Bureau Commanders.
